Lienz is to get an ÖBB Rail & Drive location in the first quarter of the new year. If you arrive in Lienz by train, you can continue your journey with a rental car.
The Lienz location will be the 39th Rail & Drive of ÖBB in Austria and the fifth in Tyrol. Two rental cars are available in Lienz. So you should get from the train station flexibly to your further destination, it said in a broadcast by ÖBB on Tuesday. The one-time registration and the driver’s license check can also be done directly at the train station.

The train station in Lienz will then be the fifth location in Tyrol. So far, rail customers have been able to book vehicles flexibly in Innsbruck, Jenbach, Landeck-Zams and Wörgl. E-cars can also be rented at the main train station in Innsbruck.
There are currently 15,000 customers and customers registered with ÖBB Rail & Drive throughout Austria. Due to the possibility of booking a car for the last few kilometers in Vienna and the provincial capitals as well as a train station in the cities, train travel is becoming more and more attractive, according to the ÖBB.
Register once and then book online
In order to use the ÖBB Rail & Drive service, customers can register online at railanddrive.at. A vehicle can be booked immediately afterwards. The journeys are billed on the basis of a tiered time and kilometer tariff.
Rail passengers who are in possession of an ÖBB Österreichcard or an ÖBB Vorteilscard will receive a travel credit of up to 60 euros when they register by January 31, 2022. Members of ÖAMTC or ARBÖ and holders of annual tickets for Wiener Linien also receive a credit upon registration.
