Near Toulouse: Papy Marius, 85, assaulted by a two-wheeler gang on Christmas Eve
While returning by car to his hotel, Marius, 85, had an argument with several young people at the hall of Saint-Lys. They attacked him.
“We do not touch Grandpa Marius!” Christmas evening turned into a nightmare for a family from the west of Toulouse gathered to celebrate. The dean, Marius, 85, was attacked by several people in Saint-Ly, while he was driving his car. He comes out without injury but remains shocked. “We had eaten at home and, with my grandmother, they did not take the road to return to the Gers, relates Laura, one of her granddaughters. I had reserved a hotel room for them in Saint -Lys “.
Shortly after 8 p.m., the family left in a convoy. “I was in front with grandma and grandpa was following us with his car. But he is old and he drives very slowly. He has lost us”. Arrived at the level of the hall of Saint-Lys, Marius is behind the car of a motorist. It is heckled by several young people perched on two-wheelers who go so far as to cut off the road.
She honks. “Not appreciating the intervention of this one, they begin to attack her, insulting her and following her, until she manages to leave”, continues Deborah, Laura’s cousin. Marius has his character and attended the whole scene. He rolls down his window and asks the little gang to go away. “It is at this moment that the six individuals move towards his vehicle. Panicked, he tries to lock himself inside, but he is not fast enough.”
According to the victim, he was strongly shaken and his car was vandalized. His attackers eventually flee, leaving him paralyzed. At the hotel, the family is worried. Likewise in the house where the guests stayed to play a board game. Without a cell phone, Marius cannot call anyone. He waits to recover his senses and ends up heading back to the hotel. Arrived, he yells: “Call the police! I was attacked!”
A complaint was filed for violence resulting in incapacity for work not exceeding eight days and damage to the property of others during a meeting. The gendarmes of the Toulouse Mirail company are in charge of the investigation. Marius’ family hopes that witnesses will come forward.
