Steve Mandanda is no longer the goalkeeper number of Olympique de Marseille, even if it was not announced by Jorge Sampaoli. Steve Mandanda has understood, however, that he is now the understudy of Pau Lopez. Mandanda, who wants to make the World Cup which will be his last, should therefore ask to leave in order to have more playing time and thus have his chances of participating in the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

“El Fenomeno” was therefore offered to AS Monaco, because Alexander Nûbel has difficulty convincing with half-tone performances. However, Monegasque leaders have let Olympic leaders know that if Steve Mandanda joined AS Monaco, he would not have had a guaranteed starting place. Alexander Nubel still has the support of ASM coach Niko Kovac.

Mandanda is unlikely to leave OM to be in the same situation. He is still among the players likely to leave OM during the next transfer window. He is indeed not satisfied with the playing time he enjoys at OM. There is always the interest of Saint-Etienne as well as some foreign clubs which follow Steve Mandanda.
