traffic
The ÖBB found almost 2,000 objects left behind on trains in Salzburg this year – including curiosities. From the skateboard to the ukulele everything was there. Around a third of the finds were able to be returned to their owners.
This year, too, dying Austrians left thousands of objects on ÖBB trains and buses. Almost 19,000 finds came together across Austria. With a total of 1,851 lost items, the federal state of Salzburg was within the Austria-wide average. Of these, the ÖBB forwarded around 900 items to the Salzburg City Administration and the municipalities. Over 800 objects found their way back to their rightful owners, said the Salzburg ÖBB spokesman Robert Mosser.
“Some lost and found items are still looking for their owner”
“The most bizarre item handed in last year was a flipchart stand that was forgotten on the train. Eight motorcycle helmets were also left behind. Just like various musical instruments – led by guitars and a ukulele – or a skateboard that wants to be ridden again by its owner, have been forgotten, ”says Mosser.
The top fund items
