Ligue 2: loaned since the start of the season, Uruguayan Agustin Rogel will return to Toulouse
Loaned in Argentina to the Estudiantes de La Plata club, the central defender has not found the transfer agreement and will return to the workforce in a few days.
The TFC finds itself with a new central defender on its hands. While the Violets have resumed training on Tuesday, December 28, and they are preparing for their 16th round of the Coupe de France on Sunday in Cannes, the winter transfer window has already started. If the market does not open until January 1, the TFC, which will be mainly looking for a left-back, is already registering its first loan returns. As we wrote last week, ex-Violets captain Ruben Gabrielsen did not convince in Copenhagen, where he played very little.

In the coming days, another central defender will return to the Pink City: Agustin Rogel. For different reasons. Loaned since last winter to Estudiantes de La Plata, the 24-year-old Uruguayan has convinced in Argentina, where he has established himself as the holder. If his performances had convinced Estudiantes to enlist him definitively, Rogel did not accept the contract proposal put on the table by the training club of Juan Sebastian Veron, now president. According to the site skyosports following the news of the Argentine team, the defender would have warned the club of his refusal.
A new salary to take care of
For TFC, which will see Rogel return to training at the start of January, the equation is more or less the same as for Gabrielsen. One of the last vestiges of the Sadran era, recruited in July 2019, the player is accompanied by a salary beyond the standards of Ligue 2 and RedBird, owner of TFC. During his loan, the two clubs, Estudiantes and TFC, shared the payments into two equal parts, which they had to pay for the TFC. The purple club should therefore again be tempted to find a way out for Agustin Rogel, who returns to an ultra-competitive position, with Gabrielsen, Rouault, Nicolaisen, Diakité, Costa and Diarra.
