Intensive care doctor: “Vaccinations do not play a role in an intensive care bed”
In Germany, the constitutional court is forcing the legislature to regulate triage more clearly. A leading intensive care physician explains the daily practice at the hospitals in Salzburg.
The German Constitutional Court caught the eye on Tuesday with a decision on triage in the hospitals. After a lawsuit for disabled people and people with serious previous illnesses, the highest judge made it clear that the legislature had to create the legal basis to protect disabled people in particular from being disadvantaged when triaging.
There is no corresponding legal basis in Austria either. The corona crisis is forcing hospital doctors to triage, especially at the height of waves of infections, also in Salzburg. Lots of sliding operations …
