Housing tax: the clubs of the third age of Toulouse are starting to make their hair white
A Toulouse senior citizens club received two housing taxes for an amount of 5,700 euros. A tax that other similar associations have never paid.
Robert Goncalvez’s determination has not budged an iota. Four weeks after receiving two taxes from Public Finances for a total amount of 5,700 euros, the president of the Pont-des-Demoiselles senior club still refuses to pay this tax.
As we told in our edition of December 23, Robert Gonçalves, head of the Pont-des-Demoiselles senior citizens club, sees his small association of volunteers endangered by two taxes from the public treasury. The first, for an amount of 2000 euros and the second for a little more than 3200 euros for “secondary residence”. An unjustified reason, according to him: “I just have to make myself install a bed”, quipped Robert Gonçalves in our columns.
“We are not owners”
Especially since for the Toulouse associations of the third age, similar to that of Robert Goncalves, there was never a question of housing tax. “We wonder what is happening with the Pont-des-Demoiselles club”, wonders Christian Estabes, the president of the Silver Hair club in Rangueil, “We have not received any tax, ever” . Same speech in the south of the Pink City: “We do not own our premises, it is the town hall of Toulouse. So we don’t have to pay this tax, ”explains the president of a senior club.
“But I am not an owner either”, surprised Robert Gonçalves. “I am installed in the premises of the MJC of Pont-des-Demoiselles to which I pay a small symbolic rent”, he explains. In this regard, the law seems to prove him right: “And what do I welcome?” Goats and chickens? », Annoys the president of the Pont-des Demoiselles club.
On December 23, the General Directorate of Public Finances (DGFiP) assured that “the file [de Robert Goncalves NDLR] is under study ”. Contacted again, the state service did not respond at the time of this writing. A meeting has been set between Robert Gonçalves and the DGFiP on January 6 to shed light on this issue.
The retiree can also count on strong support, that of the mayor of Toulouse, Jean-Luc Moudenc. “He wrote to the Director of Public Finances to talk about my case,” says Robert Gonçalves. If Jean-Luc Moudenc is not competent for cases that doubt housing taxes, no one with such support, the file of the senior club of Pont-des-Demoiselles, will be examined, quickly.
