He “fled” to Paraguay for freedom. We can lose her in Slovakia for a lockdown, I’m afraid Matovic (NEWSLETTER)
The daily Newsletter Startitup reads everything important from the business world, but also what has happened in the last 24 hours and I should not overlook it.
We have selected three main topics:
- The former prime minister warns against the lock again. Omikron may close the whole of Slovakia at the beginning of the year.
- The Slovak giant for battery production is advancing. InoBat Auto announced an investment of 10 million euros.
- The inability to freely decide on his income forced him to transfer his permanent residence to Paraguay. According to flag theory, it is best to divide your life into six countries, says Pavol Lupták.
Omikron will still be a problem
The wave of the omicron variant in Slovakia is yet to come and politicians are also aware of this. With more than 25,000 hospitalized patients expected, the state will build field hospitals earlier this year. The government was preparing for the wave of the current variant before Christmas.
A few days ago, however, words about a possible lockdown are coming from the Minister of Finance again. It is also likely that the allocated state budget funds to be used for the effects of the pandemic will not be enough. In such a case, the government will lead, according to Matovič, to gain courage and take unpopular measures.
“I’m afraid there may be a tough lockdown in January or February until we get out of the omicron somehow. In that case, the 717 million euros we put in reserve for COVID-19 will not be enough. It can easily happen that, either on the expenditure side or on the side of lost revenue, the difference with the budget can be as much as two billion euros.“Matovič said.”
