A “modern and usable” facility, with a guesthouse “so that the structure can become a training center by organizing federal rallies also for the youth sectors, also in view of the 2024 Olympics”.
Paolo Benini, councilor for sports construction, has big projects in mind for the Renzo Corsi school field in viale Avignone and does not hide them. For the structure, the tender notice relating to the works, such as those of the first lot concerning the arrangement of the athletics track, has been published on the praetorian register. “The total amount of the works of the first lot is 676 thousand euros (including 31 thousand euros of safety charges not subject to reduction), the tender will expire on January 19th. The tender relating to the second batch of works for redevelopment, arrangement of changing rooms and creation of a guesthouse will be launched at the beginning of January. The total of the construction site is close to one million euros ”, recalled by the Municipality.
“Once the process relating to the projects was concluded as promised – explains Benini – we started the tenders for the start of construction sites. The works will be financed through the taking out of a specific mortgage, for one million euros at zero interest, with the sports credit that has already been granted “.
“The first part of the work will concern the removal of the existing pavement, then a milling of the underlying bituminous carpet will be carried out and the adaptation of the surface water system – they say from Palazzo Pubblico-. Then the construction of the new bituminous wear mat and the construction of the resinous pavement of the track, up to the adaptation of the lighting system of the sports facility and the adaptation of the technological systems of the changing rooms “.
“An inspection was also carried out – explains Benini – with a geologist for that final part of the curve of the track that was ‘torn’ with the aim of understanding what lies beneath and solving the problem. As regards the return to the usability of the changing rooms and showers, these will be totally reopened as soon as the anti Covid legislation allows it “.
