Mobile data usage in the Netherlands continues

THE HAGUE (ANP) – Mobile data consumption in the Netherlands continued in the third quarter of this year. New figures from the Netherlands Authority for Consumers & Markets (ACM) point to an increase in the second quarter. All together, 346 million gigabytes of waste were generated.
The Dutch are increasingly calling and chatting via an app, which is why they use data instead of calling minutes. The total number of calling minutes was achieved in the third quarter. The number of text messages rose by 2 percent in the third quarter to 546 million, which is in line with the trend of recent quarters. ACM publishes the market figures of the telecom sector every quarter.
In the third quarter, a fiber optic connection was installed at 175,000 households. In total, almost 4.3 million Dutch households now have a fiber optic cable up to the meter cupboard. 1.8 million of them have an internet subscription via fiber optic. The number of subscriptions for broadband internet via copper or cable decreased.
The number of mobile received for devices rose to more than 8.8 million. These are advantages for, among other things, cars, slim energy meters and smoke detectors. They exchange data with management systems via mobile internet. rapidly the number of mobile devices is growing faster than due to new mobile phones. In total there were almost 23 million revenue in the third quarter.
