Luís Pinto, coach of Leça, highlighted the team’s humility in the duel with Sporting.
The draw for the Cup of Portugal left the current national champion, Sporting, facing the biggest surprise of the competition so far, Leça, team of the Portuguese Championship. For the coach of the Leceira team, Luís Pinto, the quarter-final match will be an opportunity for his players.
“For us, it was like leaving whoever left. Being at this stage, knowing who the opponent is, we will enjoy and enjoy. It will be a great opportunity to test our qualities and an opportunity to show the quality of our players,” he said, in an interview with Channel 11.
The quarter finals of the Portuguese Cup will take place between January 11th and 13th. The game with Sporting will take place at the Estádio do Leça Futebol Clube, in Leça da Palmeira.
“The difference in reality that exists between teams that are in the same form in this competition is enormous, but after 90, 120 minutes or penalties, anything can happen and everyone is fighting for the same objective: to win. Portugal, the essence is there,” he added.
“One thing is certain: we are going to enter with maximum humility, but with maximum ambition to try to reach the semi-finals,” guaranteed the coach.
“We will have the opportunity to have Sporting in Leça da Palmeiras. It will be an excellent game. We are a humble team, but we will receive them very well and we hope that Leça wins this game”, highlighted the president of Leça, José Pine.
