Compulsory corona checks in retail from January 3rd
The State of Salzburg requires the spread of the Coronavirus variant Omikron and is taking comprehensive measures: From January 3, 2022, a binding control of a 2-G certificate will apply in retail. That is the content of the Covid-19 regulation accompanying measures of the governor, which was announced on December 23rd.
“Despite the sharpest decline in the number of infections in Salzburg in the last few weeks in Austria, we are preparing intensively for the spread of the Omikron variant. We take measures to secure the health system and critical infrastructure. Omikron will hit us, but we are taking extensive measures to try to buy time. This also includes the 2-G controls in retail from January 3rd, ”emphasize Governor Wilfried Haslauer and Deputy Governor Christian Stöckl.
Excluding grocery stores and pharmacies
According to the ordinance, which comes into force on January 3, 2022, when and when operators of shops are required to check their customers for a 2-G proof, if possible when entering the shop, but at least when buying goods at the cash desk. This applies to both retail and service providers, but not to shops for everyday needs such as the grocery store and pharmacies.
