Comment on Belgium will shake world football in 2022
In addition to the “Footbelgate” soon to be judged, judicial decisions expected next year could, from Belgium, create real earthquakes in world football.

MElders Hissel and Dupont are not, to say the least, not the most talkative lawyers there are when it comes to addressing the media. It is generally the news that is responsible for hoisting the two Lieges to the front page, as was the case last May, when they obtained for their three clients – FC Barcelona, Juventus Turin and Real Madrid – as questions put to the European Court about the Super League, which had aroused the collective ire (in the meantime suspended) from UEFA.
The case raises a question that comes up often, and which was again pinned last November by the court of first instance concerning the ban on exercising against Dejan Veljkovic: can football authorities be neutral when are they at the same time regulating and organizing events?
