“Cenas de Lisboa” featured at Casino Estoril with free entry
THE artist Maramgoní, born in Brazil, exhibits his work “Cenas de Lisboa” at the Casino Estoril Art Gallery, free of charge until January 31st.
This is the Brazilian’s first work as an individual artist that focuses on the Portuguese capital. Maramgoní shares his vision through 24 works that portray typical neighborhoods, such as Alfama and Bairro Alto, and characteristic places such as Baixa Pombalina, São Jorge Castle, the Tagus River and scenes from everyday life in Lisbon.
“I looked for images that somehow told a little of what happens in different places in the city. I looked for a unique look for each moment”, explained the artist.

“Cenas de Lisboa” was the name chosen since “it is a word often used by the Portuguese to describe everyday events” and is also related to “scenes from a movie, a moment or an immortalized place”, clarified.
Maramgoní defines himself as self-taught and reveals that his inspirations are Da Vinci, Rembrandt, Caravaggio, Renoir, Michelangelo, Bosch, Rubens, Bruegel and Klimt, artists who painted some of his works in oil, and today he uses practically only acrylic paint .
