A nice weekend of Christmas celebrations
The Christmas festivities which took place on Saturday 18 and Sunday 19 December, at the village hall of Pont-de-Salars, presented a large audience. On Saturday, the Christmas tales and comedies show was a great success with the fifty children who came to marvel at the production produced by the Théâtre des Lucioles association. Due to Covid-19, the snack organized by the animation committee was revisited: the volunteers therefore offered bags of sweets to take home to the children present for the show.
On Sunday, on the occasion of the traditional Christmas market, nearly 30 local exhibitors were present in a warm and friendly atmosphere, in order to offer many very varied products: crafts, food, fashion and accessories, local products. … The visitors were there, displayed by the quality of the products and services offered.
This year, the usual competition organized by the municipality was on the theme of Christmas recipe posters: “A gourmet Christmas in Pont-de-Salars”. The participating associations and collective establishments have shown great imagination. A jury, made up of a market exhibitor, an elected official and a visitor, had to decide in the following three categories: the most comical recipe, the favorite and the most appetizing recipe.
At around 4 p.m., Santa Claus made his entrance to distribute chocolates to the children who were too happy about the windfall.
The results of the Christmas recipe contest and the raffle offered by the town hall of Pont-de-Salars were given from 5 p.m. The Chorale du Lévézou won the prize for the favorite recipe. The most comical recipe was made by the nursing home La Résidence du Lac. The APE of public schools and APEL Sainte-Marie were awarded the prize for the most appetizing recipe.
In the end, 18 prizes were won during the raffle: a flight for two in a hot air balloon over Lake Pareloup; two menus at the “Les Voyageurs” and “L’Agapanthe” restaurants in Pont-de-Salars; 45 cinema tickets; as well as many prizes generously offered by exhibitors.
