18,874 deaths are confirmed due to Covid-19 in Portugal, 13 more than in the last epidemiological bulletin issued by the General Directorate of Health (DGS). The number of people infected with the disease so far is 1,279,785, plus 3732 in the last 24 hours.

The daily epidemiological bulletin of the DGS reveals an increase in the number of hospitalized people, accounting for this Sunday 878 admissions, 21 more than on Saturday, and 151 in intensive care units, less one in the last 24 hours.
Of the 13 deaths, five occurred in the Lisbon and Vale do Tejo region, three in the Center, two in the North, one in Alentejo, Algarve, Madeira.

Active cases rose again in the last 24 hours, changed the 100 million barrier to 101,719, 2125 more than on Saturday, and 1594 people recovered from the disease, bringing the national total of recoveries to 1,159,192.
Lisbon and Vale do Tejo continues to be the region with the most new cases diagnosed in the last 24 hours, in a total of 1640, followed by the North (1226), the Center (400), Madeira (216), the Alentejo (113 ), the Algarve (100) and the Azores (37).
Compared to the previous day, health authorities have over 1,777 contacts under surveillance, totaling 124,177 people.
According to data from the health authority, the majority of daily deaths continue to be registered among the elderly over 80 years old, a total of eight, followed by the age group from 70 to 79, with four. 60 and 65 years old.
The greatest number of deaths since the beginning of the pandemic is concentrated among the elderly over 80 years old (12,256), followed by the age groups between 70 and 79 years old (4081) and between 60 and 69 years old ( 1732).

Since the beginning of the pandemic, in March 2020, the region of Lisbon and Vale do Tejo has registered 492,957 cases and 7946 deaths.
In the North region there were 471,093 infections and 5757 deaths and the Center region now has a cumulative total of 183,554 infections and 3341 deaths.
The Algarve has 56,209 infections and 573 deaths and the Alentejo has 45,826 cases and 1086 deaths from Covid-19.
Since the start of the pandemic, the Autonomous Region of Madeira has 18,934 infections and 120 deaths, and the Azores archipelago 11,212 cases and 37 deaths.
The regional authorities of the Azores and Madeira publish their data daily, which may not coincide with the information published in the DGS bulletin.
In Portugal, since March 2020, 18,874 people have died, 9907 among men and 8967 among women.
1,279,785 cases of infection have already been registered, according to data from the DGS, of which 598,783 men, 680,042 women and 960 cases of sex that were discovered under investigation, since these data are not provided automatically.
