World Cup in Bormio: Internal duel for Gauer and Pfiffner – Liechtenstein
BORMIO – As before the speed races in Val Gardena & Liechtenstein’s athletes Nico Gauer and Marco Pfiffner also fight for the starting place in the run-up to the trial of strength in Bormio. Last time Pfiffner was ahead.
O The two speed drivers Nico Gauer and Marco Pfiffner will spend the holidays at home in Liechtenstein, but at the same time they will also prepare for the World Cup race in Bormio next week. After giant slalom training in Kühtai in the last few days, Gauer and Pfiffner are still waiting for fitness units today and tomorrow. Then it’s off to Italy, where the first downhill training is on the program on Sunday. If it BECOMES interesting on Monday, the two LSV speed drivers will fight for the only starting place for Liechtenstein in the second training session, like last week in Val Gardena. On the legendary Saslong, Pfiffner was ahead of the pack. But he couldn’t make a profit from it. In addition to a failure in the Super-G, the downhill came in 49th place and thus no World Cup points. The next chance is for one of the two nuns in Bormio, where a downhill and two super Gs are pending. (mm)
