AS Monaco – Mercato: 65M €, ASM is very ambitious and that’s great!
Despite a failed start to the season, AS Monaco is doing much better. After having climbed up the slope in Ligue 1 where ASM is now sixth in the standings at mid-season, Niko Kovac’s men, provoked by the excellent Aurélien Tchouaméni and Wissam Ben Yedder, easily won their ticket for the eighth in the Europa League, and while the club of the Principality had one of the toughest pools in the competition with Real Sociedad, PSV Eindhoven and Sturm Graz.
But AS Monaco does not hide it: he wants to be very high thereafter, and while Aurélien Tchouaméni remains courted by many big European clubs, including Chelsea, Real Madrid and Juventus Turin, Paul Mitchell calmed down most of the XXL contenders of the young and very promising French international midfielder of ASM, in view of the Mercato:
“He is already a great player despite his young age. But if we want to become a top club, we should not sell him. We are optimistic. We will assess the situation at the end of the season, but he is currently under contract to l ‘AS Monaco until 2024 and his value is that of a very, very high level player. In addition, everything is expensive here in Monaco. Let’s say that Aurélien Tchouaméni is as expensive as the Grand Casino … “, blurted out Paul Mitchell, in an interview with Tuttosport.
