The young people of the Debrecen Shooting School closed the year with medals
Debrecen – The young talents have represented their association in two prestigious competitions in recent weeks.
At the end of November, the National Adolescents’ Championship of the Hungarian Sport Shooting Association was held in Győr, where Enikő Reisz, László Pető, Balázs Kaló and Lőrinc Czeglédi started in the colors of DLSE.
Enikő Reisz closed the air pistol in fifth place in a forty-shot competition. László Pető’s air pistol won a gold medal in twenty-shot competition, then he finished in sixth place in the army’s forty-shot competition.
The team of Lőrinc Czeglédi, Balázs Kaló and László Pető took third place in a forty-shot competition.
László Pető, the director of the Debrecen Shooting School, evaluated the national championship as follows:
– We started the competition with a more modest number of people than I had previously planned, nevertheless we can be proud of the results achieved. Enikő Reisz had a bad series, which means that he ended up in fifth place, but with a good attitude, he competed a lot and, most importantly, came out of the shooting range cheerfully. I would like to highlight the performance of Pető Lackó, as he will be able to shoot forty shots after the twenty-shot competition – not a small challenge, especially for children. I was hoping to make it to the podium in the forty shots, but he was understandably more tired. The other two boys are also praised, they both shot for the first time in a national championship, and even started the first race of Lőrinc Czeglédi’s life. Balázs Kaló deserved to be a member of the team with his diligence during the training sessions, he also completed the forty-shot competition as expected, he said.
On December 17, the National Shooting Range hosted the XV. To the final of the National Postal Competition,
the three DLSE competitors, Boglárka Pető, Balázs Tóth and Jr. László Pető started. Pető Boglárka finished eighth in the forty-shot competition, Balázs Tóth finished fifth in the forty-shot competition, while Pető Lackó finished first in the twenty-shot.
Both at the National Adolescent Championships and the Postal Competition, the young titan with a gold medal said:
– I was a little excited before the national championship, although this is typical of me before almost every race, and then as I started the race and saw that the shots were not going badly, I became more and more calm. We started twenty in an air pistol twenty-shot race, I knew my opponents very well from previous competitions, but I never used to think about who a strong racer and how many can finish, I just try to pay attention to myself. I was very happy with the gold medal as an individual, this is the best result so far. After the twenty-shot competition, the team competition came, where I started with two older teammates and we were very happy to win the bronze medal – said Pető Lackó about the national championship and then about the Postal Competition.
– Fewer people started in this race than in Győr, but we were still fifteen in my race. The competition was in a good mood, the shooter went quite well. I didn’t realize I would be the first one here, but I was very happy with my gold medal, ”said the student of the Shooting School.
