It is one of the large maternity hospitals in the region, for the past ten days the midwives have been on strike. They are requisitioned but refuse to work. To “enforce their right to strike”, they filed an interim relief at the Administrative Tribunal.

And these are midwives from the Beauregard maternity hospital who made a referral today. Except that concerning certain employees, especially those who wish in health, the strikers are generally requisitioned by the Police headquarters at the request of the Regional Health Agency. Forced to work, they can only then put up a sign to show their dissatisfaction.

For the 33 striking midwives of the Marseille maternity hospital, this is not enough at all. Eleven of them bring the case to the Tribunal this Thursday, December 23.

Three requisitions have been taken since the start of the strike, the last one ending tomorrow morning … If the court invalidates it, the strike continues but this time the midwives will no longer be there. Until the maternity ward is still closed, last year it had 2,600 births.

Since August they have been claiming 250 euros net of monthly premium, an increase in staff and especially the creation of an emergency reception post. The management does not answer them …
