San Marino. Chiaruzzi in Florence to talk about geopolitics
Michele Chiaruzzi, Director of the Center for International Relations of the University of San Marino, yesterday held a conference on ‘Geopolitics and state sovereignty in the Balkans’ at the “Felice Maritano” School of Marshals and Brigaders of the Carabinieri.
It is the largest barracks in Italy and one of the most illustrious. It is based in Florence and trains hundreds of students of the Italian armed forces who are also dedicated to university-level courses, such as those concluded with the Chiaruzzi conference at the joined training units. In addition to training, the School prepares future Marshals of the Army in the technical-professional and juridical-military subjects taught in the Regiments during the three academic years.
Chiaruzzi was also invited for his commitment as a San Marino ambassador residing in Sarajevo, which allowed him to dialogue with the pupils within the framework of a concrete and concrete diplomatic-strategic vision. The role of the weapon was in fact crucial in the international missions carried out within the framework of the European Union and the Atlantic Alliance in the Balkans. The lecture given by Filippo Ruschi, Professor of Philosophy of Law at the School, focused on the relationship between the Republic and the Arma, was noteworthy. On 1 June 1921, at the request of the San Marino government and under its dependencies, a detachment made up of about twenty Royal Carabinieri with security tasks was deployed to San Marino, waiting for the establishment of a national police force, finally established in 1936. Every soldier serving in the Republic was decorated by Italy with a medal of merit. It was the first of a historical series of collaborations and friendship between the Arma and the Republic, such as the one represented, in its own way, by the Chiaruzzi conference.
