HC TIWAG Innsbruck – Die Haie celebrates a sovereign away win at HC Tesla Orli Znojmo and wins its 15th win of the season. For the South Moravia it was the first defeat after three wins in a row.

The omens before the Christmas game could not be more different: While the Czechs, who were ten in the table, got the maximum points from the last three games and thus kept their advantages a non-pre-playoff place, the Tyroleans had previously suffered three defeats in a row. But the HCI played an almost perfect away game on Thursday. In the eighth minute, Zach Magwood hit the lead with a shot into the far corner. Shortly thereafter, Joel Messner (10./PP) increased in excess. Although Znojmo had a slight advantage with 9: 6 shots in the first third, the third goal was scored by the guests again: Daniel Leavens, who already scored in the first two duels of the season with the Czech Eagles, increased to 0: 3 after 19 minutes.

In the middle section Leavens put together a double pack in a power play, shortly before the end of the third the home side wrote to Tor Immo. But Innsbruck left nothing to burn that afternoon. The Innsbruckers, who are currently the second best away team in the bet-at-home ICE Hockey League, also won the season duel and climbed to fifth place in the table.
