Good news for fans of Hertha, Union, Alba, BR Volleys, polar bears and foxes. In Berlin fans are now allowed in!
The Berlin Senate decided on Thursday. According to this, up to 3,000 spectators in the open air and 2,000 spectators in the hall can be present at the Berlin clubs. Despite the omicron variant, which is spreading more and more.
Berlin’s governor Franziska Giffey (43 / SPD): “We have decided to proceed with moderation here, weighing up the risks and protective measures.
And further: “We have come to the conclusion that this is still better than a complete rejection.”
With this, the state of Berlin is going it alone in Germany: On Tuesday the federal and state governments had actually agreed that “major national events” would have to take place without fans from December 28th.
However, the prerequisite for the exception: All clubs that play home games, when and have a hygiene plan.
And: The games must basically take place according to 2G-plus rules: They are only open to vaccinated and convalescent people, and on top of that, they have to die before a current negative corona test. Wearing an FFP2 mask is also mandatory.
