The Lidl supermarket located in the Vovray business zone was the target of an armed robbery on Wednesday, December 22 in the early evening, in Seynod.
According to the first elements, it was 7.20 p.m. when an individual entered the supermarket and presented himself at a checkout, taking a hammer out of his bag.
The man yelled at two employees to open their cash register. Very nervous, he threw himself on the two boxes. The first being intended for payment by bank card, he is turned back on the second and the idea, still with his hammer in the other hand, before quickly leaving the premises on foot. The loss is estimated at € 2,500, in cash.

The hammer robbery did not hurt but the threatened employees were shocked. Dispatched to avenue des Vieux Moulins, the gendarmes of Seynod made the first observations and readings in the supermarket, as well as various hearings. As part of the investigation opened with the support of the Annecy research brigade (BR), the gendarmes of Seynod launched this Thursday morning a call for witnesses to identify the author of the armed robbery.
The wanted thief is an African-type man of about 30 years old, with black skin, between 1.75 and 1.80 meters tall. The man wore a black parka from the Off White brand with white logos (cross + horizontal lines), a hood, a black anti-covid mask with the Lacoste logo on the side, the green crocodile. The man speaks French correctly and uses a hammer as a weapon.
