The sprinkler watered. A young woman from 22 years old was heard on Monday, December 20, 2021, at the central police station of Toulouse, by the general investigations unit of the right bank of the national police, for acts ofscam… on other crooks.

A promise of “easy money”

According to the first elements of the investigation, the young woman would have responded to a social media announcement, promising him to “To make easy money”. The principle ? After providing their bank details and an identity document, checks were going to be miraculously credited to his account. It then had to return all of these sums through PCS prepaid cards, which she had to acquire in tobacconists.

Six checks fallen from the sky

After providing her bank details, the young woman said to herself “bingo”. She has indeed seen arriving first six checks on his account, a total of 5,400 euros, that she therefore had to train crooks with PCS cards. Except that she disappeared from radar. Seeing that she did not comply, they put pressure on her to respect the pact. In vain.

Enrichment runs out

While she had already spent a good part of this money, more than 1,300 euros in total, the affair turned badly a few days later. Not with the crooks, but with … the owners of the stolen checks, who saw the scam and opposed. There was in particular in the lot, a victim who had one day ordered a checkbook at his bank, and had never received it.

The police managed to trace back to the young woman. Placed in police custody Monday at the Toulouse central police station fraud, and will have to honor his victims well. She may remember that if money does not fall from the sky, it is rare, too, for it to fall from the web.
