The government has adjusted covid measures, and schools will test more often
According to the War, the government wants to monitor the spread of omicron variants by testing. The new obligation for laboratories to examine it from Sunday, December 26, with a test that can detect positive samples in people with coronavirus symptoms also has to catch it. In a week’s time, the government will review data from Britain and how serious omicron Denmark is in seniors and at-risk patients, and will take further anti-epidemic measures accordingly. In the meantime, the first cases of omicron have been confirmed in the Vysočina region; the occurrence or suspicion of a variant is already registered by hygienists in half of the regions. The most well-known cases of omicron, about forty, are in the South Moravian Region.
According to some experts, the rules of isolation, quarantine and testing should change in the Czech Republic due to omicron. Vaccines should also go to quarantine. Acquiring test results and finding infected contacts should be speeded up. Alternatively, the isolation time, which would be a negative test, could be shortened, experts say.
The new cabinet of Prime Minister Petr Fiala (ODS) today also amended the statute of the Central Crisis Staff by abolishing the government council for health risks used by the previous cabinet of YES and the CSSD. According to Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister Vít Rakušan (STAN), the council disrupted the crisis management system. “The outcomes came to the government from two sides and often led to what I call the confusion of languages,” he said. Válek announced that he still remains in the position of chief hygienist Pavla Svrčinová. She should be as tough as she was in Ostrava, he said.
People over the age of 30 may have a booster dose of coronavirus vaccine after five months from Monday, December 27, Fiala said. Until now, this age group has been able to undergo revaccination six months after the completion of the vaccination. Since the end of last December, when vaccination began in the Czech Republic, healthcare professionals have already administered over 15 million doses of the vaccine. Nearly 6.6 million people are fully vaccinated, more than two million of whom came for a booster dose, according to the Ministry of Health. However, in terms of per capita, the Czech Republic is the ninth worst in the European Union in terms of vaccination.
Those interested in the PCR test do not order the recommended coronavirus testing before the Christmas holidays, when they meet relatives, before Christmas Day in many Prague hospitals, the free dates are only after the holidays. People will have a very limited opportunity to be tested at Christmas in the Karlovy Vary region, where only one collection point will probably open on holidays. In contrast, in the south of Bohemia, the test center does not plan any major traffic restrictions.
