Ski jumping: Hayböck factory comeback in Innsbruck
The 30-year-old will return to the ski jump in Seefeld on December 8th, this week he was on the Innsbruck Bergisel together with the national team around Stefan Kraft on the Bakken. This time as a member of a different training group, which should change soon with the extended tour contingent. “It is my great wish that I start on the Bergisel on January 3rd. The longing would be great, ”said Hayböck to the APA.
He is fine, he is satisfied with his condition, he just wants to get back into the competition. But be careful, he still has to listen carefully to his body. “I have to adhere to that because I notice that the ski jumping load in my body is still working. But everything is in the normal range. ”But there is still a bit of a lateral position, since the left foot, which is more affected by the herniated disc, does not react to the training in the same way as the right.
“Next step in coming back”
A competition before the World Cup comeback makes sense. Hayböck: “That’s good, so that one or two more hatches can run up, so that it’s a little easier. In terms of results, I don’t set myself any goals, it’s the next step in coming back. ”The previous World Cup season of the ÖSV team is also a motivation for him. “Because I know when I’ve got my seven plums together, I’m just as confident of myself. The only important thing is that it fits physically. “
There are still weeks until the opening of the Olympics, from the Bergisel jumping it WILL be just a month. The jump on the Beijing plane is therefore a long one for Hayböck, but he still believes it is possible: “If everything really always goes perfectly, it can work out. I’m sure that is still in my head. But it’s a difficult situation and the world wouldn’t end if it didn’t work out. It would be more of a miracle if I am in top form there and can ride. “
Training deficit is still great
Because the training deficit is still large, Hayböck had to pause for around a month in the summer because of a tear in the syndesmosis tape. “There was no time for preparatory preparation, I can only do it with routine now.” The jump training was only put in between, priority number one clearly the improvement of the trunk stability. “That is the basic requirement that I still have a few years of ski jumping ahead of me.”
