Comment on the Facebook profile on the introduction of the signal in the metro.
This morning we started the LTE signal in the last two stations here in the server room in Černý Most, so we already have the signal in the metro completely finished. In all tunnels and stations, you can now handle e-mails, read newspapers or send photos with friends on the way to work. I’m glad we have it before Christmas. We managed to do it a year earlier than planned, and thanks to the timing, it became such a Christmas present.
The sequel will be in April, when we have a 5G signal in the remaining five stations.
Thanks for the commitment of all the great technicians and all the other DPP teams and our operators, their work really deserves great admiration. We were the first in Europe to launch a 5G metro network in Prague. And a big thank you goes to Martin Štrébel from T-Mobile, who was the main project manager of the whole project and during the installation he found a total of over 700 kilometers through stations and tunnels ??
Here are some more interesting things:
- Technicians in the line tunnels installed almost 114 km of radiating cable and another more than 120 km of cabling for antennas and jumpers in the tunnels.
- The signal on the platforms and in the vestibules of the stations spreads almost 1200 antennas.
- The network includes more than 2,500 passive elements such as DC blocks, splitters, tappers, couplers, MBC1 converters and the like.
- A total of 25 designers and more than 200 assemblers and workers worked on the entire project, divided into working platoons of about 8 to 10 people.
- At the same time, a total of up to 70 employees worked in 6 different locations in the metro at 6 different locations.
- Stations with the smallest number of antennas: Prague Uprising – 9 antennas.
- Stations with the largest number of antennas: Můstek – 36 antennas.
- The simplest tunnel to cover: generally the shortest, ie Museum – Central Station (425 meters).
- The most difficult tunnel to cover: Nádraží Holešovice – Kobylisy (2748 meters).
- The easiest station to cover: IP Pavlova.
- The most difficult stations to cover: Central Station due to high ceilings and a divided platform.
The signal in the subway may seem like a trifle, but it is a symbol for me that things are finally being worked on that improve the daily life of Praguers. So let’s move on!
