Russia does not want war, while the country will ensure security with systems that it deems necessary, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov in an interview with the editorial office of the RT foreign broadcasting.

“Our philosophy has long been well known, it is contained in the famous songs“ Do the Russians Want War ”. We do not want war, President Putin once again said that we do not need conflicts and we hope that no one else sees conflicts as desirable actions. We will strictly ensure our security with the means that we deem necessary, ”the minister said.
He agrees that Moscow is warning hotheads in Ukraine and the West against military confrontation.
“Yesterday, Putin said clearly at the collegium of the Ministry of Defense: we have all the necessary capabilities to provide a proper, including technical response to any provocations,” Lavrov added.
At the same time, the Foreign Minister recalled that Russia would not want to choose such a path of confrontation, but “the choice is for our partners.”
On December 9, the chief of the general staff of the Russian Armed Forces, Valery Gerasimov, said that any provocations by the Kiev authorities to challenge the situation in Donbass by force would be suppressed.
