According to the State Traffic Inspectorate, the number of fatalities in road accidents at the end of November 2021 decreased by 11.1 percent compared to the same period last year and amounted to slightly more than 13 thousand people.

According to the preliminary results of the year, more than 135.9 thousand road signs, 2.6 thousand traffic lights and 574.2 thousand meters of barriers have been installed on the country’s roads. In total, over the past period, more than 16.5 thousand kilometers of roads have been built and repaired. Moreover, about 72 percent of road facilities were brought to a standard state using the latest technologies and materials. Almost 400 thousand meters of the roadway was illuminated by lighting.

As for road repairs, builders take into account the opinion of residents through public hearings, polls in the media and social networks. The technical condition of the sites and their social significance were taken into account. So, in 2021, 400 sections of regional and municipal highways leading to medical institutions and 838 roads leading to schools, kindergartens and centers of various creativity were repaired.

412 new buses and trolleybuses in 13 urban agglomerations appeared this year thanks to the implementation of the federal project “Modernization of passenger transport in urban agglomerations”. The new transport is equipped with everything you need – air conditioners, USB connectors, an automatic fire detection and extinguishing system, video surveillance, Wi-Fi. In addition, a tachograph and a driver monitoring system are installed in the rolling stock. For transportation of people with limited mobility, a low floor and comfortable handrails are provided. Transport runs on environmentally friendly fuel – liquefied gas.
