“No to the Christmas sting”
The CDLS to the Government: negotiations must be opened immediately to calm the San Marino price increases
“No words: despite the promises of an estimate on expensive bills and big news that could be mitigated by the extent of the increases, the confrontation of a close confrontation on this topic has remained a dead letter”. Thus the Secretary General of the CDLS Gianluca Montanari returns to press the government underlining that percentages of increase of 35% of light and gas require immediate interventions. “We are astonished – denounces the CDLS secretary – with respect to the search for discussion with the government on an issue that is so important for workers, pensioners and more generally for all San Marino families. We are very worried about learning from the Authority that, following the tariff increases, family budgets will be cut by an average of over 300 euros per year for electricity and gas. ” For the CDLS, he continues, “increasing the cost of utilities cannot be limited to a simple budget balancing exercise for the AASS: it is much more, especially from the point of view of the social impact on the weakest sections of the population. Percentages of this entity require the utmost attention from the Government, contextual and immediate social support interventions, all the more so in a moment of strong cause due to the rapid worsening of the Covid-19 pandemic “. “We strongly confirm – Montanari points out – our request to promptly initiate the discussion before the elevated prospects are made operational, we have communicated to the Government and Authority our opposition, both in terms of substance and method, to apply them indiscriminately, not negotiated and do not calm down for the weaker groups. Unfortunately, the lack of dialogue with the Service Company should also be underlined ”. The CDLS, says the secretary, “has ideas and proposals to put on the negotiating table to tackle this speculative flare-up concerning the dynamics of energy prices. The union’s patience is not infinite, we are waiting to understand what the Government intends to do and what the Authority’s definitive indications will be ”.
