Mega trial for the trade in stimulant pills in Salzburg: three defendants have now been released
On Wednesday, the sixth day of negotiations in the Salzburg mega-trial for the alleged trade in 13.8 million captagon tablets, the jury released three of the 14 defendants.

The trio, who are now free after nine or seven months in custody, are a Turkish (38), a German (29 / both defended by lawyer Kurt Jelinek) and a Hungarian (27 / lawyer Harald Schnötzlinger). The trio is said to have participated in the repackaging and installation of the pills in pizza ovens and household appliances.
As reported, the public prosecutor’s office accuses the 14 defendants of having smuggled the stimulant pills from Lebanon into the Flachgau region in varying degrees of involvement, then temporarily storing and repackaging them here and sending them to Saudi Arabia for profitable sale.
