Man drives the “car salesman” to the police on a test drive – but he escapes
A car buyer drove a suspected fence directly to the police station on a test drive in Cologne. However, the perpetrator fled and is now being sought. So he became skeptical.
Cologne – In Cologne, a man (37) “showed the right nose” when buying a car, as a police spokesman reported. On Tuesday afternoon (December 21), he had unknowingly arranged to meet a fence for a test drive in the Porz district. He quickly became skeptical and drove the young man straight to the police station. Once there, the supposed “car seller” fled. First in the stolen car and then on foot. Now is the search for him.
Cologne: man wants to have car papers checked – suspect almost runs over passers-by while escaping
The 37-year-old wanted to take a closer look at an Audi A7 during the test drive. For this he met at around 4 p.m. at the Schwanebitzer Hof in Urbach with a “representative of the keeper”, as the police announced. The latter gave the interested party copied vehicle and personal papers and only a single car key. The overall situation puzzled him, which is why he promptly drove with the suspect in the passenger seat to the Porz police station on Ernst-Mühlendyck-Strasse to have the papers and cars checked.
When a policewoman wanted to take a closer look at the Audi, the “car salesman” fled at “full throttle towards the main street”. Several passers-by jump to the side at the same time so as not to be run over. He finally raced left over a red light on the main road. However, the fugitive got stuck with his car in the nearby dead-end street Heinrich-von-Kleist-Strasse and finally ran away on foot in the direction of Theodor-Körner-Strasse.
