The Secretary of State for the Portuguese Communities said this Wednesday that the French authorities had told her that an investigation was under way into the death of a Portuguese driver in Calais, after alleged clashes with migrants trying to enter the UK.

In response to a request from the Lusa agency, Berta Nunes indicated that the Consulate General in Paris is in contact with French authorities, who said that an investigation was underway into the exact contours of the success.

On Sunday night, a Portuguese lorry driver died at a service station near Calais, France, after alleged clashes with three migrants who boarded the truck to cross the UK border.
