Corona: Another severe case after Ivermectin administration in Salzburg
According to “Salzburger Nachrichten”, a woman in Salzburg is affected, who is now said to be in the intensive care unit. In addition, a Pongau doctor is being investigated who is said to have prescribed Ivermectin to a 58-year-old Styrian. In the previous week, the public prosecutor’s office had started investigations after the death of an 87-year-old from Tennengauer, who is said to have been prescribed Ivermectin by a general practitioner in Hallein to treat a Covid disease. According to SN, a woman from Salzburg is now in the intensive care unit, who is said to have also been prescribed the dewormer by the same doctor.
At the end of last week, the Salzburg public prosecutor’s office began investigating the Hallein doctor after a statement of the facts by the medical association. The spokeswoman for the prosecution, Elena Haslinger, has now also confirmed investigations into a doctor in Pongau, who is said to have prescribed 58-year-old Styrian Ivermectin. According to the “Kleine Zeitung”, the man was in the intensive care unit in the Schladming deaconess clinic, but has since been eliminated. The man did not suffer any poisoning from taking ivermectin, and no consequential damage should have occurred, the newspaper quoted medical director Karl Wohak as saying. His Covid-19 symptoms had nevertheless unnecessarily worsened because treatment had been delayed.
In addition, according to Haslinger, a third case is being investigated against a doctor and a pharmacist in Salzburg. “No specific victim could be found here. However, the accusation was made that the pharmacist handed out Ivermectin without a prescription and the doctor was prescribing the drug against Covid. The colleague has also initiated an investigation here.” The APA could not reach Haslinger on Wednesday morning.
