2021 budget of the Mycological Presidium
Time to take stock for the Mycological Presidium which had been set up inside the San Marino Hospital. The service, as every year, was carried out by the inspectors of the Mycological Association in collaboration with the Institute for Social Security to assist mushroom enthusiasts especially in the sorting after harvesting.
Begun in September, the activity of the garrison ended at the end of November. The main services provided include the support to mushroom enthusiasts in the sorting of the harvest and the recognition of the species and the possible edibility. Furthermore, the mycological inspectors have issued the certification of the control of the collected mushrooms, information on the correct behavior to be followed during the outings in the woods, first aid consultations in cases of poisoning from poisoned mushrooms and not least have dispensed advice on their preparation. and conservation.
Going into the merits of the numbers, 73 selections of mushrooms were carried out (13 in September, 29 in October and 31 in November), of which 12 with toxic or poisonous species (1 in September, 5 in October and 7 in November). Among the most common edible species collected in the woods and surroundings of San Marino are the Agrocybe aegerita (pioppino or piopparello): 12 selections; followed by the Armillaria mellea (chiodino): 11 selections and the Tricholoma terreum (moretta): 9 selections.
As for the crops, 2 selections of as many collections presented 12 varieties of mushrooms. Both at the Mycological Presidium by expert collectors, they mainly contained edible varieties, plus some other mushrooms that the collectors had already considered of dubious origin, brought to analyze to ask for more information to the mycological inspectors.
The fruitful and fundamental collaboration between the ISS and the Mycological Association, which carries out the activity free of charge, has lasted for 30 years.
