Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden impresses in a “stylish” emerald and diamond brooch
The Swedish royal family was in Stockholm on Monday 20 December for the Swedish Academy’s annual meeting, which looked incredibly royal with its jewelery. The Swedish Academy publishes important dictionaries and also nominates the winner of the Nobel Prize in Literature. Crown Princess Victoria arrived at the meeting draped in faux fur and velvet.
Her husband, Prince Daniel, had been planning to accompany her, but he stayed home because he had a mild cold.
Victoria’s velvet dress, made by Camilla Thulin, was deep forest green in color but also looked teal depending on the lighting.
The designer’s official website described the dress as “petrol” because the color alternates between forest green and teal.
Victoria added some glitter with a clutch bag covered in Swarovski crystals.
The real spark then came from Victoria’s jewelry.

She enhanced the glitter with the family’s small diamond earrings.
Victoria also wore a large diamond and emerald devil: the large brooch from the Bernadotte Emerald Suite.
She used the brooch to secure the light blue seraphim bow.
The combination of dress, belt and brooch served to emphasize the blue tones in the emerald.
Bernadotte’s emerald suite belonged to the first Bernadotte king, Carl XIV Johan.

It consists of a large necklace that was originally worn as a belt, plus two brooches.
The larger brooch was originally a belt buckle.
Crown Princess Victoria has worn the Bernadotte emeralds on several occasions.
In 2012, she paired the necklace and the smaller brooch with the Diamond Four-Button Tiara at the Nobel Prize banquet.
Queen Silvia was warmly wrapped in a black fur-trimmed jacket when she came to the meeting.
The queen accompanied her outfit with some pearl and diamond earrings, a multicolored pearl necklace, a large ring and stacked bracelets.
Silvia wore some very colorful bracelets with pearls on her left wrist.
She wears these bracelets often, as they are linked to one of her most important charitable activities, the World Childhood Foundation.
