Not just clear words for the autumn of 2021 des SV Innsbruck, but also some clear statements about the situation in the Regionalliga Tirol, come in the ligaportal.at Tirol interview with the SVI coach, Martin Hofbauer. For him, his ex-team Schwaz is the title favorite, the Zeil for the SVI is of course relegation. If you can keep the Corona situation under control, the play-off of the Regionalliga West and the second half of the Tirol League WILL be played in spring 2022. The last four opponents for the SVI in the basic round are Reichenau (H), Schwaz (A), Telfs (H) and Kufstein (H). The SVI will play three times against teams, the hottest (Schwaz and Telfs) and outsider candidates (Reichenau) in the top 2 places and thus for the play-off of the Regionalliga West.
Positive and negative highlights in autumn 2021?
Martin Hofbauer, coach SV Innsbruck: “I see the development of our young players, a sensational participation in training and the individual quality of the entire team as positive. I see the development of football in general negatively. A lack of respect everything is too tense, I’m excluding the majority of my team now – not noticeable. For many it is only about the current success and there were many campaigns that were freed from sporting fairness, that actually went through the whole autumn. “
Have the intended goals been achieved?
Martin Hofbauer: “No, they weren’t. Our quality and the point yield are too far apart. Due to bad luck with injuries, we simply had problems in too many key positions and therefore left many points behind. However, we also achieved a few points and IF you see the last few years, other clubs with far fewer points have been there after an autumn season. “
What are the goals for spring 2022?
Martin Hofbauer: “We want to take part in the Regionalliga Tirol in the 2022/2023 season as well. Anything else would not be a sporting goal for us. “
Are there already fixed changes in the squad, are reinforcements being considered in winter, in which positions?
Martin Hofbauer: “We look around the player market, but it is difficult in winter to get good players who can help us. Especially since we don’t pay a fixed salary, these discussions are usually ended very quickly. There are also clubs that play in some league and offer good players a very high fixed salary and we are left out again. Our club rightly does not want to take part in this displacement competition. The past has shown where these clubs end up. The SVI stands for camaraderie and enjoyment of the game and not for mercenaries who are only here to get money and when they get a little more somewhere else, they sneak back in. “
Are there injured players?
Martin Hofbauer: “Yes, there are some injured in the squad. However, they should die after their injuries and operations – shoulder, cruciate ligament rupture – in the course of spring 2022 can accrue again for the SVI. “
What are the effects of the corona pandemic or the renewed aggravation of the situation with the 4th wave and the lockdown?
Martin Hofbauer: “It’s not economically for a possibly easier weaker club like us. Nevertheless, I like that the SVI does not reveal its path and continues in the Regionalliga Tirol as one of the few, or even the only club, not to have a single player in the squad who has come to us for the money or is staying because of it. “
Personal concern?
Martin Hofbauer: “I would expect a lot more respect for one another. There are coaches and players in our league who think they are the greatest and have achieved little or nothing so far. The ongoing acting should be severely punished, then maybe it stops. I also expect a lot more respect and understanding from the referees, as they certainly don’t have an easy job. I often have to be too objective. Even if some in the league are overwhelmed and very few are lacking in human size. “
Favorite titles in your league?
Martin Hofbauer: “My ex-club SC Eglo Schwaz. Great club, the best infrastructure, a mega team and a great coaching team! “
Will the national team make it to the World Cup finals in Qatar?
Martin Hofbauer: “Of course, as a patriot, I hope that Austria will make it. But competing away from home is not that easy. I wish the team and Austrian football that the national team can finally show off their quality and that a philosophy BECOMES tangible and visible. Above all, after the great results at the international club level, the national team should also be successful. “
Important information about the team and club?
Martin Hofbauer: “Nothing important to report at the moment, except that we have a great restaurant on Wiesengasse.”
