Ice hockey: Salzburg extend table leadership

Red Bull Salzburg offered their own fans a peat festival when they returned to the ice arena. The leaders of the ICE Hockey League (ICE) finished off Hydro Fehervar 8-2 on Saturday evening and thus extended their lead over pursuers Olimpija Ljubljana. The Hungarians fields back from third to sixth place.
The 1,559 supporters had to die five home games because of the coronavirus lockdown. It was the last home game of the “cops” before Christmas Eve, and the fourth victory in a row could be fixed.
This was mainly due to a strong middle third, in which with Thomas Raffl (21st), Charles Lo Verde (25th), Peter Schneider (29th), Paul Huber (30th) and Aljaz Predan (34th) five different ones Salzburg traffic. The Hungarians managed to make it 1: 5, but that was just a drop in the ocean. In the final section, Dominique Heinrich (41./PP) and Schneider made the runaway victory perfect with hits number two (45th) and three (56th).
The club from Szekesfehervar remains a welcome opponent, as the third direct duel also ended with a Salzburg victory. For the Hungarians it was the second clear defeat in a row after the 3: 7 in the Pustertal Wölfen on Friday. The files Znojmo on Saturday at home with 2: 4.
