Siemens Portugal is preparing to increase the team, in a growth strategy also focused on investment in health and exports, as announced by CEO Pedro Pires Miranda, in an interview with Jornal Económico. It goes on to say that, this year, the company grew 10% and aims to reach 200 million in exports.
“I am much more ambitious, because I think we are in a unique position. Portugal is an attractive country, it is a country where people like to work. I give you our example: we have three thousand employees, 15% have a passport non-Portuguese, with 58 nationalities. I usually say that it is like the United Nations of Siemens. It is the Siemens company that has the most foreigners working in its local market, “said the CEO, to the weekly. He explains that the company currently has 3,000 employees and wants to reach 3,500 in the next five years.
From 2020 to 2021, Siemens Portugal grew by more than 10%, having surpassed, for the first time, 150 million euros in exports to four continents. We want to grow annually between 7% to 10% until the decade of the decade. Therefore, we will definitely reach more than 200 million euros in exports per year. Our plan clearly aimed at a progressive and sustainable increase in exports”, he adds.
