In Advent, we present to our readers what Christmas looks like in individual parts of Prague this year. Due to the coronavirus, the couple had to cancel the very popular Christmas markets, which take place regularly in front of St. Ludmila’s Church, after only five days. Despite this fact, however, the second part of the capital made the Christmas holidays more pleasant for its residents and visitors, for example, with its beautiful decorations on Peace Square or Christmas concerts.
Dvojka had to cancel the markets
Due to the number of people infected with coronavirus, Dvojka had to cancel popular Christmas markets, which caused problems especially for traders who suspected that they were selling their products on the markets and spending the necessary money. However, the city district decided to support even after the abolition and closure of markets in a modern way.

Advent concerts evoked a real Christmas atmosphere
Although the coronavirus measures caused significant organizational problems and many events had to be canceled, Prague 2 gave its residents and visitors a beautiful Christmas atmosphere thanks to its Advent concerts. The first Advent concert was hosted by Dvojka on December 3 at Vyšehrad, where many music fans and Christmas lovers gathered. The following concerts took place on December 9 in the Church of St. Stephen and on December 16 in the Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary and St. Charlemagne in Charles.

Skating in Riegráč and Grébovka
Prague 2 offers skating lovers two large ice rinks, in Riegrovy sady and in Grébovka Park. The ice rink in Riegrovy sady is open for visitors from 9 am to 8 pm. All-day admission for adults and older children costs 50 crowns, children under six have free admission. Skates can be rented for 80 crowns. It will be possible to skate in Riegrovy sady until February 28, 2022.
The second ice rink, where people can enjoy great winter fun, is located in Grébovka Park, which is also known as Havlíčkovy sady. The ice rink is open daily from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. and will also be available until February 28, 2022.
