ZUŠ Open in Advent time invites to concerts in Neratov and Prague
The following Monday, December 20, from 5 pm, ZUŠ Open invites together with the Prague 6 district to a live musical nativity scene in the Písek Gate in Hradčany.. The range of Advent and Christmas songs was prepared jointly by pupils and teachers of ZUŠ Jan Hanuš, ZUŠ Petřiny, ZŠ Marjánka and MŠ Bílá.
Do Neratová This year, ZUŠ Open is being prepared for the second time with the aim of sharing not only the joy of art, but also supporting the local community. Advent concert, bearing the name “Give the rose, O heavens” will start Advent trumpeting of the brass ensemble from ZUŠ Vysoké Mýto. At the beginning of the concert, the listeners will be able to experience the performance of native songs performed by a collection of historical music from the Prague ZUŠ U půjčovny. Talented young soloists and chamber musicians from the ZUŠ Pardubice and Hradec Králové region, together with their teachers and professional musicians, will perform in the dramaturgy of the works of Baroque masters. The attractiveness of the concert will be enhanced by the performance of the dulcimer music Strunka from ZUŠ Zlín, which will bring Advent Wallachian folk songs to Neratov. “Art is hope, it cultivates society, it elevates the spirit, it brings joy in the event of a benefit overlap and help the needy. The shared art of young performers, pupils of ZUŠek, is a living hope and bears witness to the fact that the education of the youngest generation to art has real meaning. We need such hope not only in Advent, “ says the director of the ZUŠ Open festival, singer Irena Pohl Houkalová, who will perform arias by JS Bach and JD Zelenka in the program together with pupils and teachers of several ZUŠ and a talented blind flutist from the J. Deyl Conservatory. Until the coming Christmas time, all the performers will invite the famous Christmas song Adeste fideles together. Violinist Jiří Kabát, director of ZUŠ Pardubice-Polabiny, pianist and harpsichordist Iva Vrátilová, director of ZUŠ Vysoké Mýto will perform together with young performers.
On Monday, December 20, from 5:00 p.m. Písek Gate in Prague 6 under the title “The Way of the Shepherds” a range of Advent and Christmas songs, which were prepared jointly by pupils and teachers of ZUŠ Jan Hanuš, ZUŠ Petřiny, ZŠ Marjánka and Kindergarten Bílá. In the composed performance, which accompanies the spoken word, the performers in the costumes of the folk Bethlehem will perform and transfer the audience through the Advent period until the coming Christmas. The program will feature Advent songs AM from Otradovice and a carol band arranged by A. Stecker. The event is held under the auspices of the Councilor for Education, Mrs. Ing. Marie Kubíková and with the kind support of the Prague 6 district management in cooperation with the local Roman Catholic parish of St. Matthew.
This year, the fifth year of the national festival of basic art schools ZUŠ Open to check more than ever on the benefits and significance of art education, which has been noticeably negatively affected by a pandemic lasting more than a year. For most of last school year, elementary art schools were closed. Therefore, this year’s ZUŠ Open, which is organized by the Magdalena Kožená Endowment Fund in cooperation with basic art schools and other free institutions, again takes place in the set time from spring to the end of the calendar year. The program of individual schools is continuously updated on the website www.zusopen.cz.
