Street maintenance contracts have been signed for a period of 36 months. Asphalt pavements will be renewed during the repair works in accordance with today’s technical requirements, and defects in the sections of streets, sidewalks, bicycle paths and other city pavements will be eliminated.
In order to reduce the inconvenience to city residents due to street repairs, some of the work will be done during the dark hours of the day. If necessary, traffic will also be diverted to other streets. In cases where larger-scale technologically complex works are planned, including the renovation of engineers, aspects of street humanisation, the works projects will be prepared individually according to the customer’s task. Reconstruction of streets and road works will aim to preserve all existing vegetation.
According to the Sustainable Mobility Plan approved by the city of Vilnius until 2030, various measures of the city continue to reduce the negative consequences of cars: noise and pollution indicators, increase the safety of the city space. For this purpose, bicycle paths are being built and maintained, great attention is paid to the ecology of transport and the distribution of its flows, and the management of freight logistics.
YIT Vilnius City Municipality has also recently signed a LTL 6 million contract. It is planned to renovate the sections of the capital’s Lentvario Street 1650 meters, Vaduvos Street 650 meters and Gerosios Vilties Street 700 meters.
