An octogenarian from Annecy made, for fun, a 20-minute film to express his love for Lake Annecy. He compares it to the other great lakes on the planet and declares his love for it.
Léo Gantelet is not stingy with words when he talks about Lake Annecy. This 82-year-old native of Annecy set out six years ago in the making of a 20-minute film on this jewel of Haute-Savoie: “Hymn to the lake”.
“I do this for fun, I have already written 12 books including a collection of poems (Tell me! Lake, published by l’Astronome) which I wrote while walking along the lake. ” For about fifteen years, this cantor of Lake Annecy walked for 2 hours by three times a day weeks, on the shores of his favorite lake.
This film is also a culmination for this culture enthusiast who saw the big picture. Licked images, made by another Annecy, Daniel Brunier.
The film’s music, entirely original, was written by a pianist friend named Sylvain Vallet, the texts are spoken by the professional actor Alain Carré and Léo’s son, Stéphane, painted watercolors which decorate the film.
Through this local production, we also discover the other great lakes of the world (Baikal, Titicaca, Victoria, Balaton), but each time the author returns to his passion for Lake Annecy, his treasure.
In addition to this personal production, Léo Gantelet produced a show on the same theme, performed three times in Annecy and its surroundings. The first two took place at the Seynod auditorium in 2015 and on the Haras d’Annecy site with the virtuoso François-René Duchâble at the piano, in front of 600 people. The last “live” took place at Chavanoz (Isère) on October 30, with classical accordionist Dimitri Bouclier at the baton.
