Theater: Naples; ‘Red Code’ at the Parthenope University – Theater
(ANSA) – NAPLES, 16 DEC – From the University to the schools, through the theater, a strong message against violence against women: the theatrical show ‘Code was organized by the CUG (Single Guarantee Committee) of the Parthenope University of Naples. Rosso ‘, with Ciro Esposito and Rosaria De Cicco, directed by Nicola Le Donne and Francesco Nappi, on the phenomenon of gender-based violence. The event connected to the National Day against Gender Violence on 25 November was conceived for the students of the University, but connected online it was followed by the students of the Calamandrei high schools and Don Lorenzo Milani of Naples, of the Nobel of Torre del Greco, of the art school of Aversa, of the scientist Vittorini.
The performance was accompanied by speeches by the president of the University CUG, prof. Rosaria Giampetraglia, of the pro rector vicar Francesco Calza, of the director Mauro Rocco.
‘Laws alone are not enough, a socio-cultural revolution – recalled Giampetraglia – these are battles to be fought all together. The woman must be aware that the institutions are there. The role of education and the family is important ”.
The director and student Nicola Le Donne explained that the show was born ” from the need to tell stories that are sometimes unfortunately also raw for the theater. We do not give answers or solutions but we want to stimulate reflections ”.
In the conclusions, prof. Carla Pansini recalled the latest victims of femicide underlining the centrality of the school in spreading the culture of respect.
