In central Russia – especially in Moscow – the weather on New Year’s Eve and the days of January holidays will be frosty, with a temperature of 10 degrees. About this in a conversation with “Lenta.ru” said the forecaster, head of the forecast center “Meteo” Alexander Shuvalov.

Shuvalov added that strong invasions stretch over time and are quite long, therefore, with a high degree of confidence, we can talk about New Year’s Eve with temperatures from 10 to 15 degrees below zero. “There will be a small snowball sparkling in the moonlight on the trees,” noted the forecaster.

According to Shuvalov, such weather sets the tone for all January holidays, and in the first ten days of 2022 there will be frosts typical for such a period. However, changes are possible, added the forecaster.

In the Volga region and in the Urals, the situation will develop in the same way as in central Russia. At the same time, thaws are more likely in St. Petersburg and in the north-west of the Russian Plain, both on New Year’s Eve and in the first ten days of January.

In the south, strong cyclonic activity and inclement weather with high rainfall and wind is expected. It will be installed in Gelendzhik, Sochi, Novorossiysk from Friday, December 17, and will last the entire next week.

“For now, it will be cold in the middle lane. And such unstable weather with precipitation will be in Krasnodar and Stavropol. And if in the middle lane the weather is calm – frost, light snow, then here – precipitation, and gusty wind, and about zero degrees, ”concluded Shuvalov.

Earlier, a specialist at the Phobos center, Yevgeny Tishkovets, warned Russians that the European part of Russia, the Urals and Western Siberia would be covered by abnormal frosts by the end of December and mid-January. The average daily temperature in Russia will drop below normal 5-7 degrees, and the cold will recede only by the end of January 2022.
