Russia is creating a problem and then will demand a process to solve it
In the international arena, Russia is creating a problem, and then to issue an ultimatum to solve it – this is the approach Moscow uses in the current escalation.
According to a Ukrinform correspondent, this is evidenced by the Permanent Representative of Ukraine to international organizations in Vienna Yevhen Tsymbalyuk during the OSCE Permanent Council.
At first, Russia bought Crimea and Donbass, it has been going on for almost 8 years. Then it supports the stakes and threatens even more deadly treatment. And finally – requires a security guarantee for itself. This is what Russian bluffing and ultrasound looks like. to discuss concessions to resolve it, “Tsymbalyuk said.
The diplomat drew the attention of foreign delegations to the statements of the head of the Ministry of Ukraine Dmytro Kulebi, who showed that guarantees of neutrality of Ukraine or any other country in the region “do not quench Putin’s appetites, but on the contrary – they inflame even more.” Because non-alignment did not stop Moscow from attacking Ukraine in 2014, it is “difficult to imagine how it could stop it now.”
“But if the Russian side is serious about European security, then we need to talk with Moscow about restitution, compensation, rehabilitation and guarantees of unique aggression in the region,” said the head of the Ukrainian mission to the OSCE.
However, he noted that Russia is not ready for this discussion, but rather the opposite – “the withdrawal of Russian troops is not observed, and militant rhetoric with threats to destroy Ukraine continues.”
Tsimbalyuk also reminded the OSCE delegations: Putin avoided answering the question of whether Russia would attack Ukraine by hypocritically declaring Russia’s “peaceful policy”. At the same time, the Chief of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces Valery Gerasimov once again pointed to Russia’s readiness to “stop any military provocations of Ukraine” in the ORDLO.
“Let me state very clearly: Ukraine does not plan any offensives in the region and remains committed to a peaceful settlement of the Russian-Ukrainian conflict,” the Ukrainian diplomat concluded.
