Revenues and expenditures of Prague in 2022: It will manage CZK 92.6 billion
Deputy Mayor for Finance Pavel Vyhnánek (Prague Sobě) spoke about the imminent implementation or start-up of projects for a number of important constructions. “Next year will be marked by declining debt and the launch of absolutely crucial investment projects,” he said. He mentioned mainly the construction of metro D, the reconstruction of the Industrial Palace, the construction of a footbridge between Holešovice and Karlín or the Dvorecký bridge or the reconstruction of Wenceslas Square or Malostranské Square.
Who will pay for Metro D?
Vyhnánek had previously pointed out that the construction of metro D cannot do without money from the state and has high hopes for the future government. “It would be extremely unfair to the people of Prague if they had to carry these investments on their shoulders,” he said. The management of Prague is often criticized for accumulating money in accounts, but according to Vyhnánek, there is nothing left if it wants to complete the construction of metro D to the end. “As the only metropolis in the developed world, we are left on the side of the state in preparing the investment in the subway,” he added. According to him, Vienna, for example, has a clear agreement with the state to pay half of the metro construction.
We don’t know what to do with the money
Opposition representative Ivan Pilný (ANO) criticized the allocated half a billion crowns for the renewal of urban furniture, including public transport shelters. “We are going for maintenance and we don’t know much about money. This budget certainly does not indicate that there will be any change, “he said. According to her, the opposition also criticized the large amount that the city has in its accounts, which it should invest in.
Vyhněnek replied that the city must accumulate money precisely because it does not have a guarantee from the state that it will help it with large investments and not terrible that the city has to “sit on the money”. “The city should not be from raising funds, but from investing for the benefit of citizens,” he added.
“The budget seems like a little communal socialism to me,” said the mayor of Prague 9 Tomáš Portlík (ODS), who wanted to increase the per capita allowance for the city district from the capital’s budget, which is mainly demanded by the mayors. He wanted them to receive 300 crowns more per capita than before, but his proposal was not accepted. ODS politicians have also criticized the lack of support for sport.

Praguers will not live in the cable car
Ondřej Prokop from the ANO movement complained that, according to him, the city does not have a sufficiently ambitious housing strategy and the city invests little in it. The budget is 600 million crowns. “Instead of dealing with housing, you put 1.5 billion on cable cars. Do you think the Roasted will live in the cable car? ”He said. He asked why the city, for example, does not buy vacant apartments on the market, which other regional cities do, according to him. “You don’t do anything for affordable housing,” he added. Deputy for Local Development Petr Hlaváček (for TOP 09) told him he replied that 6,000 flats had started in Prague this year. He noted that last year was also marked by the covid, and no one at that time was marked by the covid, and no one knew if the end of the world would be over. “We are in a city where statistics say building a permit takes 8 to 13 years,” he added to the criticism.
Board for representatives
Posters from the ODS workshop appeared at the council meeting. It is about a board game called Journey through Prague in 80 days. He mainly criticizes the situation in transport and reminds of the game Man, don’t be angry. There are messages like “You have nowhere to park. Go back to the start. “ or “Scheinherr doesn’t want you here. Go back four squares. “
