Near Rouen, a college completely evacuated following the cut of a gas pipeline

A large pipeline was inadvertently cut on the site which aims to create an extension of the establishment. “It smelled of gas, the firefighters and GRDF are negotiated. We all stayed outside for at least two hours, ”says the principal of the establishment, Véronique Sizelier.
An incident all the more regrettable as it interrupted the long-awaited Christmas dinner, for which “the catering staff worked a lot”.
Students and teachers sent home
By the time of the evacuation, only a third of the students had eaten their meals. Without gas, it was, in fact, impossible to cook the remaining meals afterwards. “We sent messages to parents to pick up their children. The teachers, too, left the place. Shortly after 4 p.m., the principal had just returned to her office and was awaiting instructions for the day tomorrow. He was told that the leak required the intervention of a company specializing in gas.
For the moment, the heating is not working in the college. The administration will take stock shortly with the parents of the students, as to the organization of the day on Friday, December 17.
