more normal, ambition can be even higher – CustomerFirst . horses
In has conducted format research into the state of User experience (UX) design and UX management in the Netherlands. More than 30 UX managers were asked about roles and responsibilities, maturity, aspirations, resources, success factors, opportunities and threats. One of the outputs from the report: if we succeed in seizing the opportunity, UX is part of everything we do.
For the survey, which was conducted last year, online questionnaires were used and held with UX managers of future Dutch organizations.
Positive expectations
The position of UX manager has not been around for long in the Netherlands: it was not until around 2010 that you saw the first UX managers at organizations such as TomTom, Funda and ABN AMRO. From the previous survey by Informat in 2015 that the package taken turned out to be the best and heavy. The new research shows a stronger spread of responsibilities across different roles, such as the UX lead and the UX director. UX design is becoming more and more mainstream and the ambitions of UX managers are great. The expectations for the future of UX in the Netherlands are therefore positive.
UX management circle
Informat has always followed the development of the UX manager position with great attention and founded the UX management circle in 2015. The members of this community meet a few times a year to discuss their mutual relationships. The UX management circle includes UX managers from the following organizations: TomTom, ABN AMRO, PostNL, Adidas, ING, the Municipality of Amsterdam and ANWB. The survey was conducted among the members of this community.
